Sol Kids

Overview

We covered the Sol Kids event with a combined photography and video team. The aim was to record the day as it happened and give the client content to share afterwards.

The challenge

Events happen once, with no chance to repeat a moment. The team had to be in the right place at the right time, stay out of the way and capture both the planned highlights and the small moments in between. The client also wanted content quickly, while the event was still fresh in people's minds.

Our approach

Before the day we agreed a running order and a shot list with the organisers, so we knew where the key moments would happen. Our photographer and videographer worked in tandem, covering the same moments from different angles. We used fast lenses and available light where we could, keeping the coverage natural and unobtrusive. Clean audio was recorded alongside the footage, so the film carries the sound of the day. After the event we sent a small set of quick selects first, then delivered the full edited gallery and a short highlights film.

Outcome

The client received a complete record of the Sol Kids event in stills and film, ready to share with everyone who took part. The highlights film gives it a short, shareable summary for social media.
