Simbavati Lake Ndutu

Overview

Simbavati Lake Ndutu is a safari property at Lake Ndutu in Tanzania. We were asked to film and photograph the property, then turn the material into marketing content for its website, booking partners and social channels.

The challenge

Travellers choosing a safari stay want to know how it feels to be there, not only what the accommodation looks like. The content had to capture the space, the setting and the slow pace of a day in the bush, in formats that work everywhere from a website header to a phone screen.

Our approach

We planned a shot list that followed a guest's day, from first light over the landscape to the glow of the evening. Video was filmed on a gimbal with slow, steady moves that match the calm of the setting, with close details of textures, food and lamplight cut between the wider scenes. Photography ran alongside the filming, so the stills and footage share the same light and styling. We graded both to one natural, warm palette that stays true to the colours of the landscape. Finally, we cut a main property film and a set of short vertical edits for social media.
