Kipalo Hills

Overview
Kipalo Hills is part of the Secluded Africa collection of lodges, set among rock and acacia with long views over the plains. Secluded Africa asked us for a library of architecture and lifestyle images it could use across its website, booking partners and social channels.
The challenge
Remote lodges sell an experience that is hard to put into words. The images had to show the architecture honestly, the way the buildings sit in the landscape and the feeling of a slow afternoon by the pool, while still working at the small sizes of social feeds and booking platforms.
Our approach
We planned the shoot around the light. Wide architecture frames were captured at golden hour, when stone and timber glow against the sky, with detail and lifestyle frames through the middle of the day. Every space was styled on set, from the loungers on the pool deck to the cushions in the rooms, and we shot a vertical alongside every horizontal so each scene works on Instagram Stories as well as the website. After the shoot we graded the full set to one warm palette shared with the other Secluded Africa properties.
What we delivered
- Architecture photography
- Lifestyle photography
- Social media content in vertical and carousel formats
- A graded image library for the website and booking partners
Outcome
The library gave Secluded Africa one visual language across Kipalo Hills, Instinct of the Mara and Cardamom House, and enough content to schedule months of posts from a single trip.
