360 Degrees Pizza

Overview
360 Degrees Pizza asked us for a fresh set of food and lifestyle photographs to support its marketing. The images had to work across social media, menus and promotions, where the pizza itself does most of the selling.
The challenge
Pizza looks simple but is hard to photograph well. Cheese sets within minutes, toppings slide and steam disappears, so every hero frame has a short window. The set also needed people in it, so the brand would feel social and not only like a menu.
Our approach
We worked beside the kitchen, photographing each pizza moments after it left the oven. A soft key light from the side brought out the texture of the crust and the shine on the toppings, with a reflector to lift the shadows. We shot overhead flat lays for menus, low angles for the cheese pull and close details of slices being lifted. For the lifestyle frames we styled a table for sharing, with hands reaching in, drinks poured and boxes open. Every image was colour corrected to keep tomato reds and golden crusts true, then cropped for square, vertical and landscape use.
